SafeCom 2014 Chemical Regulatory Conference Official Agenda Release

SafeCom 2014 Chemical Regulatory Conference Official Agenda Release

SafeCom, one of Europe’s most prestigious, as well as the UK’s largest chemical regulatory conference, will take place on the 15th May 2014 at the St. John’s Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham. The conference is organised by Safeware Quasar Limited, highly renowned and respected for the industry experts and calibre of speakers the event attracts.

The SafeCom 2014 official agenda, offering details of presentations over the course of the day, is now available on the SafeCom 2014 website at www.safecom-conferences.co.uk. This year’s agenda has been especially devised to focus on the implementation of GHS in the twelve months that follow the conference, covering the crucial June 2015 CLP deadline. With an exceptional line-up of industry experts providing quality information and guidance, anyone involved in the chemical industry will benefit from attending SafeCom 2014.

After welcoming Dr Atlason from ECHA last month, we are pleased to announce we have now added another expert speaker to our line-up; Roger Schenck. Roger is a Manager at the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), an organisation associated with collecting and making publicly available the data about substances in commerce worldwide. CAS has been heavily involved with the identification and registration of substances including regulations about their use, transport and environmental fate.

The inclusion of an industry exhibition will also return and run alongside the 2014 conference, an ideal event for those looking to speak to experts, and a superb opportunity to view and experience latest developments in the market first hand. Safeware Quasar is currently receiving a high volume of queries relating to chemical labelling and printing. We are pleased to confirm companies operating in the label printing industry will be attending SafeCom 2014, offering delegates solutions to the problems they are facing in making the transition from the CHIP Regulation to CLP.

The conference celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and will launch with an informal dinner on the 14th May 2014 for those who wish to attend. This will provide a superb opportunity for delegates to network with peers and industry experts, as well as renew existing acquaintances.

Hazi Mistry, Managing Director at Safeware Quasar comments; “We have worked hard to put together an agenda that will focus on compliance with the GHS 2015 deadline for manufacturers and retailers. Our aim is to inform our delegates of what action is required to remain compliant into the future and provide guidance on how to achieve this. We would advise any organisation supplying chemical based products to nominate a member of their team to attend SafeCom this year in particular.

“As in previous years, we expect the conference to be a sell-out event. Those planning to attend are advised to book soon due to limited availability.”
