Whirlpool Wins Prestigious EMRA Leading Design Award

Whirlpool Wins Prestigious EMRA Leading Design Award

Whirlpool has scored a significant triumph by winning the trophy for leading design in the cooling category at the prestigious British Electrical Manufacturing & Retailing Awards (EMRA).

At a deluxe gala dinner at Twickenham Stadium on Thursday, 15th May, the company’s Absolute WBA 33992 NFC IX fridge freezer came out on top in one of the most important and anticipated categories of the annual awards, which recognise leading design, sustainability and contribution to the UK economy.

The awards specifically focus on the manufacturers, brands, products and support services that deserve recognition as leaders in the electrical retailing industry.  Winning an EMRA is acknowledged as excellence among peers and recognised as a world class performance alongside the global icons of style, design, engineering, innovation and best business practice across all major industries.

Whirlpool’s stunning new Absolute WBA 33992 NFC IX fridge freezer incorporates the company’s very latest food preservation technology.  Advanced 6th Sense® technology creates the ideal environment for food, ensuring the optimal temperature in the fridge at all times by sensing its variance and restoring it to the correct level five times faster than a conventional model; while 6th Sense® Fresh Control preserves food freshness for up to four times longer than a fridge without this technology. The fridge freezer maintains both the temperature and the humidity at a level of 70-85 per cent throughout the entire fridge cavity (not just in a drawer) to ensure long lasting freshness.  In addition, the special Activ0º drawer keeps raw meat and fish at their very best and for longer, using dual sensors to ensure a temperature of around 0ºC.

This highly intelligent fridge freezer, with an ‘A++’ energy rating, is one of a series of Whirlpool’s Green Generation appliances, the evolution of combining outstanding performance, high product efficiency and appliances that make a difference to the environment, as well as reducing living expenses.

Darren Harrison, Managing Director said: “The prestigious EMRAs  is a fantastic achievement and our thanks goes out to all the retailers who voted too.

“The award is also a highly valued acknowledgment of the tremendous effort of all the Whirlpool teams who strive to make the company a leading manufacturer of cutting edge kitchen appliances that incorporate imaginative and contemporary designs and the finest intelligent technology.  The cooling market, in particular, has been dramatically transformed in recent years by design and technology that far exceeds anything we knew before.  Our winning Absolute fridge freezer is an apt example of how far our exciting industry has progressed.”
