Whirlpool Supreme Care Washing Machine Wins Prestigious 2015 iF Design Award

Whirlpool has scored a significant triumph by winning the 2015 iF Design Award, one of the most celebrated global labels for design excellence, for its innovative new Supreme Care washing machine.

Following intensive assessment from an international, high-profile judging panel, the revolutionary Whirlpool Supreme Care washing machine came out on top after beating 5,000 entries from 53 countries.

The 2015 iF Design Award, a prize that recognises outstanding design quality in product discipline and the household category, was awarded to the new Supreme Care washing machine, thanks to its unique combination of sleek, cutting-edge design with unprecedented performance levels in care for garments, noise and energy. The award is a strong endorsement of Whirlpool’s design strategy and ability to provide home life solutions that empower and simplify consumers’ lives.

Boasting a modern, high-end aesthetic, the new washing machine is designed with an intuitive user interface, capable not only of reducing resource consumption but also consumer effort. It also features Whirlpool’s electronic sensor technology and pioneering 6th Sense ease of use, guaranteeing perfect and effortless results every time.

With new ZEN TechnologyTM, the energy saving A+++ (-50%) Whirlpool Supreme Care washing machines are the quietest on the market¹, spinning at just 67 dB(A). Washing and spinning is super-quiet, thanks to Whirlpool’s revolutionary new direct drive motor, which is connected directly to the drum, resulting in the minimum vibration and extraordinary low noise level. With such quietness, consumers can even run the washing machine overnight.

Commenting on the award win, Helena Ryan, Trade Marketing Manager, Whirlpool, says: “We are very proud to receive the iF Design Award recognition for our new Supreme Care front loading washing machine. As well as outstanding performance and the quietest washing machine motor on the market, our Supreme Care washing machine marries smooth, innovative design with exceptional performance levels in care for garments, noise and energy. This winning combination offers a truly unique experience that requires minimal effort on the consumer’s part. In addition, elegant lines shape the machines’ simple and harmonious appearance and the display is elegant, easy-to-use and intuitive.

“The key values of our brand are translated in a unique design language. The beauty of our new Supreme Care washing machine is inspired by design purity and premium appearance thanks to details that reflect the quality of the materials and the symmetry of the product. This result confirms our design strategy quality and the excellence of our team.”

The innovative, new Supreme Care washing machines are available in sizes of 8kg, 9kg, 10kg and 12kg, and have up to 6 years’ parts and labour guarantee, with a ten year warranty on the new Zen direct drive motor.
