Intelligent Appliances from Whirlpool Save Energy, Time and Money

Intelligent Appliances from Whirlpool Save Energy, Time and Money

Whirlpool, the world’s leading manufacturer of major home appliances, offers solutions to rocketing energy prices with intelligent appliances that feature their patented 6th Sense® technology. Offering an effortless and intuitive experience, 6th Sense® technology monitors, adapts and controls the appliance settings, which also saves the user valuable time and money.

The evolutionary Whirlpool 6th Sense® technology offers households a whole host of benefits, including time, energy and a more efficient use of resources. Perhaps the greatest, and most effective, advantage offered to the consumer is in financial savings. At a time when utility bills continue to increase, a product that can minimise costs in the long term is a real help and one that will be appreciated. According to the Energy Saving Trust, 40 per cent of consumers are most attracted to buying energy efficient products if they saved them money on bills1. Whirlpool has continually developed and extended its energy saving technology of 6th Sense® appliances to both built-in and freestanding ranges and across all categories. The special electronic sensors help to improve food conservation in refrigeration appliances and enhance cooking, laundry, microwave and dishwashing performance with excellent results, while also reducing resource consumption.

The 6th Sense® technology in the Whirlpool Supreme Care washing machine measures the soil level and load capacity, and adjusts the amount of energy, water and time accordingly, ensuring no resources are wasted. The same intelligence is transferred to cooking too, with Whirlpool built-in ovens boasting an ‘A+’ energy rating. The oven senses the mass of the food inside and constantly monitors and adapts the cooking process, temperature and time, to guarantee perfect results with minimal energy use. The oven also benefits from Ready2Cook, which eliminates the need for pre-heating, saving both energy and time for the consumer. You simply place the dish into the cold oven and the technology does the rest.  Depending on the dish you are cooking, you can save up to 20 per cent on energy costs2. Making life even easier, the oven also benefits from Cook3 technology, which enables you to cook on all three levels at once, such as a starter, main course and dessert without the mixing of either the flavours or aromas.

The latest 6th Sense® PowerClean™ dishwashers from Whirlpool, both freestanding and built-in, are intelligent and stylish models featuring the new PowerDry option. This makes them the number one in cleaning and drying in just one hour3.  The PowerDry option makes clouds of steam a thing of the past when you open the door after dishwashing, and everything, including plastic items, is perfectly dry and ready to put away. With 6th Sense® PowerClean™ and PowerDry option, these dishwashers detect and sense the grime and automatically adjust the water usage, as well as managing the temperature and length of the programme. This all saves up to 50 per cent of water, energy and time4. Models boast an ‘A+++’ energy rating, and a water consumption of just 10 litres.  They are equipped with 28 PowerClean™ jets, situated at the rear of the dishwasher, dedicated to removing burnt-on food to ensure that pre-washing is a thing of the past.

The next level of resource saving involves the total delegation of control to the appliance. Whirlpool has now developed a smart washing machine and tumble dryer that communicate with each other, and can be controlled from anywhere, using their new 6th Sense Live® app, available on both iOS and Android. Whirlpool has always delivered solutions that respond to consumer needs and 6th Sense Live® has evolved from the pioneering 6th Sense® technology to offer further exceptional performance levels in noise, energy and garment care.

The new Supreme Care FSCR 12441 Live washing machine and matching HSCX 10441 tumble dryer are connected by the interactive app, so work together in perfect harmony, with the dryer pre-setting the correct drying programme for the clothes you have just washed, choosing the most optimal settings for energy efficiency. As stated in the Energy Saving Trust UK:Pulse, 41 per cent of consumers are more likely to buy white goods, if they provide information or advice on how to use less energy1. The Whirlpool 6th Sense Live® app tells the user the exact cost of the cycle they are about to select, to the penny, which is great for those energy conscious homeowners. The app also allows the user to choose the most optimal times and resources to run programmes via the scheduler, or check current energy usage using the ECOMONITOR.

Jennifer Spragg, Brand and Digital Marketing Manager, Whirlpool, says: “At Whirlpool, we understand the importance of energy saving for homeowners and for the preservation of the environment. Therefore the Whirlpool range of premium models are equipped with the very latest technology for making life easier, saving the consumer precious time and money, while also reducing valuable energy and water usage.

“The latest development in product connectivity is the evolution of Whirlpool’s 6th Sense® technology, which has revolutionised appliances and enriched the personal lifestyles of our customers. Super-efficient washing and drying can now be achieved with the absolute minimum of effort, and efficient use of finite resources.”

The new flagship Supreme Care Live washing machine (FSCR 12441) and the matching Supreme Care tumble dryer (HSCX 10441) retail at £899.99 each.
