Whirlpool Showcases the Interactive Kitchen of the Future, SmartCook, SupremeClean Dishwasher and the Supreme Built-in Cooling Range

Milan, April 11th, 2016 – Whirlpool will be presenting the next level of household appliances at EuroCucina. Its inspirational Interactive Kitchen of the Future reveals how our appliances will become even more connected, innovative and intuitive, and helpful in our daily lives in the near future. In addition, Whirlpool is showcasing innovative new products, including the SmartCook induction hob, the SupremeClean dishwasher and the Supreme built-in cooling range, demonstrating how this evolution into the future has already started.

Whirlpool is renowned for innovation and solutions that improve consumers’ daily lives with intuitive technology and simplicity of use. Whirlpool is the No. 1 brand in household appliances in the world, with over 100 years’ experience, and stands for leading-edge design, which perfectly complements the newest technology, and perfectly fits into your contemporary elegant home. By constantly driving innovation Whirlpool’s cutting edge products will satisfy and anticipate new consumer needs.

Enter the Interactive Kitchen of the Future

Whirlpool’s Interactive Kitchen of the Future concept simulates a day in the life in a smart kitchen, exploring how the kitchen can work as a cooking and informational hub. It showcases how Whirlpool’s smart technology will interact with the world of connected smart devices – and the wider eco-system of connected appliances in the “Internet of Things” – to help a family cook, clean and care in the near future.

At the heart of the Interactive Kitchen of the Future is an interactive splashback and a connected cooktop, which work together to link the consumer to their social networks, favourite websites, and recipes. As well as enabling meal planning without the need for cookbooks or other digital devices, the interactive splashback features a personalised touch screen that facilitates live ‘chats’ – perhaps to swap recipes with friends or family – and offers wine recommendations for the selected meal. Meanwhile, the future kitchen hob lists the ingredients of each dish and targets the right amount of power to wherever you place each saucepan, with smart sensors that help automatically cook the food to perfection. Elsewhere in the kitchen are unique and innovative concepts such as the sink washer, which automatically detects when items are placed in the sink and seals itself to run a wash cycle once you leave the room.

Throughout the Interactive Kitchen of the Future, Whirlpool will show how the conceptual smart kitchen could anticipate your lifestyle, learning a family’s likes and routines so the appliances can adapt to their unique needs and circumstances.

Introducing the Future with the 6th SENSE Technology and App

At EuroCucina Whirlpool proves that the future has already started by showing a suite of current connected products with increased intelligence and unique features. Whirlpool will be demonstrating a suite of appliances featuring 6th SENSE LIVE technology – Internet connected appliances that can interact more closely and intelligently with the user, such as the SupremeCare washer and dryer where the cycles are regulated in perfect harmony by way of a special app. The app communicates information on the programme and spin speed, allowing the dryer to synchronise with the washing machine, and to automatically preselect the right drying cycle.

“Being able to show a real, working suite of connected appliances demonstrates the extent of Whirlpool’s commitment to innovation and pushing forward of future technologies. These existing products showcase the depth of our experience and are a foundation that we continue to build on, as well as lending credibility to the future concepts we are presenting,” said Carl-Martin Lindahl, Vice President Products & Brands, Whirlpool EMEA. “Ultimately, connectivity is not a specific product, but a journey – and one we have been travelling on ever since we presented the first connected appliances in 2001 at hometec in Berlin. Today we have delivered the first products onto the market that draw on this experience, and we are looking at ways to evolve further, to anticipate our customers’ future needs and expectations. The Interactive Kitchen of the Future is one possible result of this evolution.”

The SupremeClean Dishwasher Sets New Standards for Washing and Drying

Also presented at EuroCucina is the new SupremeClean dishwasher range, which packs in a raft of innovative technologies to fit in more performance – supreme cleaning and drying results – with 30 per cent more space[i] for your pots and pans. Powered by Whirlpool’s innovative technologies 6th SENSE, PowerClean Pro and PowerDry, the SupremeClean dishwasher helps you easily clean and fully dry a full load of dishes – no matter how tough the grease – within just one hour[ii], all with A+++ efficiency. And, as a Whirlpool appliance, all that performance and innovation is made effortlessly accessible through smart, intuitive controls, beautifully presented within a premium, elegant design that’s perfectly at home in contemporary living spaces.

As well as being smart on the inside, the SupremeClean dishwasher range features Whirlpool’s characteristically high end styling, with elegant, contemporary looks that add sophistication to any kitchen. This is achieved by the use of premium materials, and a high quality and easy to read display, which benefits from ergonomically optimised controls and a minimal yet intuitive user interface. Inside the dishwasher, bold red accents indicate the Power Clean Zone and the PowerDry system, offering a cool contrast to the metal interior and indicating to the user where to position dishes for the best results.
