Cheshire care worker wins excellence award

Lynn Fitzpatrick, Support Worker at the Cheshire House care centre in Sale, Cheshire, has been recognised for her dedication at the recent ceremony held by the Caring Homes Group, ‘Celebrating Excellence Awards 2010’.

Lynn won the award for Positive Outcomes to Care and Support Intervention, as a result of the hard work she puts into the role and the compassionate attitude she applies to her work.

Lynn says: “It was such a shock to win the award, but a lovely shock! It meant even more to me knowing that I had been nominated by the Cheshire House team, and I am lucky to be part of such a fantastic team.

“I really enjoy working at Cheshire House, and am particularly proud of the life story work that I undertake with the residents. This is especially important for childhood development, or for those with learning difficulties. I am pleased that my hard work has been recognised, and would like to thank the rest of my team for their support and friendship.”

The Caring Homes Group, the UK’s largest independently owned care home group, introduced the ‘Celebrating Excellence Awards’ to recognise excellent service, commitment and dedication of the company’s unsung heroes, across all spectrums of care. Nominations were received from all the Caring Homes Groups brands; Caring Homes, Consensus, Curate and Cheshire House.

Held at the Radisson Hotel in Stanstead, Essex, the ceremony was hosted by the hilarious and outrageous act ‘ 4 Poofs and a Piano’, who are best known as the house band on BBC One’s incredibly popular ‘Friday Night with Jonathon Ross’. Over 250 members of staff from the Caring Homes Group attended the evening, which also included a delicious three-course meal. A raffle was held to support those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.

Emma Charlton, Group Marketing Director, says: “I would like to congratulate Lynn on her award, it is a real achievement and she should be very proud of herself and the important work that she does at Cheshire House.

“Our staff work so hard throughout the year, and truly do deserve to be rewarded for their dedication. The awards evening acknowledged and celebrated the role of each and every member, and their outstanding contribution, effort and achievements.”
