New stainless steel finish for Whirlpool gas hobs

New stainless steel finish for Whirlpool gas hobs

The wonderfully enduring properties of stainless steel are hard to beat as the classic finish on kitchen appliances, but now Whirlpool has added further ‘steel’ to the concept on its new range of built-in gas hobs.

The addition of iXelium stainless steel to the company’s gas hobs marks a new and genuinely innovative era for this already formidable alloy, and illustrates once again Whirlpool’s determination to stay ahead of the competition.

Thanks to the application of nanotechnology, Whirlpool’s iXelium acts as a barrier against chemical and mechanical agents, preserving the quality and natural shine of the metal over an extended period of time. iXelium is effectively an anti-ageing solution that prevents surface stains and yellowing, and additionally reduces the signs of scratches, corrosion and marks.

Whirlpool’s new gas hobs are therefore more resistant to scratches and high temperature discolouration, and keep their pristine looks for longer!

The technology also makes for easy cleaning, as food residue does not stick to the surface. You simply wipe it with a wet cloth and it is perfect again, resuming its fine appearance. Furthermore, iXelium’s ‘green’ properties mean that just water or non-aggressive detergents can be used to clean it for a more limited environmental impact compared to standard products.

A perfect example of the new Whirlpool range of hobs is the 750 mm wide AKT 725/IXL, which is an ergonomically designed five-zone model in what still ranks as the favoured fuel of most cooks and would-be chefs. This middle market treat has front controls for ease of use and convenience, and offers the style and technological capabilities of many more expensively priced models.

Dalia Haddad, Whirlpool’s Product Marketing Manager for Built-In says:  “The AKT 725/IXL bears all the classic features of the stainless steel gas hobs that most consumers prefer, with the tremendous additional selling point of our iXelium coating, which takes the concept of stainless steel to a higher and more durable level. Retaining its good looks for longer, added to substantial tangible benefits it adds great added value at the point of sale for the retailer.”
