Gorenje designed by Karim Rashid built-in ovens and an induction hob feature in the Komb House, which was exhibited at Le Marché, Egypt’s leading furniture fair. The groundbreaking house is designed to be an ideal dwelling and uses technology to create a sense of family and community, and to minimise its impact on the environment. It incorporates features such as Gorenje’s energy efficient appliances, solar panels and the reuse of grey water.
The built-in Gorenje oven is ‘A’ rated for energy efficiency. It has an EcoClean enamel coating, which reflects the heat into the centre of the oven rather than absorbing it, producing an even distribution of heat and cutting energy use. The extremely efficient rear fan and three shelves mean several different dishes can be cooked at the same time without the flavours mingling, again cutting energy use. The beautiful induction hob has the stunning good looks associated with Karim Rashid designs and all the advantages of induction cooking; using 40 per cent less power and being twice as fast as a gas hob, making it the ideal choice for an eco-friendly house.
